It seems as though one of the problems with the US is that the country is so big and all of these stadiums are far apart. This would not allow folks to attend as many of the games at different venues that might interest them. A West Coast center might answer that, but as a rugger from the North East...I would feel slighted. The same could be said of putting the tournament along the I95 corrador, but in turn slight the west coast folks. Honestly, the thought excites me either way. Put it in North America anywhere...and I will find my way.

Ok, so to be relevant in this conversation I did some research and first, there are 48 games to be played at world cups from pools to the finals. instead of following everyone elses model, we should build our own. 48 games can break down to 3 games in 16 cities. smaller rugby cities can have 2 games, playoff cities can have 4. commit atleast 1 game in a city near an expat/ cultural community. In addition, it seems customary for atleast 1 city to be in a foreign land so we should make 1 or 2 of the 16 cities in Canada. these cities should be: Boston New York DC Atlanta Miami Dallas/Houston Chicago Denver Salt Lake City LA Bay Area Seattle/Vancouver Honolulu Toronto Phoenix/Las Vegas Detroit/St.Louis/KC/Minneapolis(som ewhere else in the midwest) MLS/MLB/CFL/College stadiums for pools, NFL Stadiums for major pool matches and playoffs

Kyle Miller is absolutely correct have it all in California maybe schedule an Irish/England game in Boston or NY to keep the right coasters happy but under no circumstances should even a practice be held in Colorado. Colorado is the worst! The only good thing Colorado has going for it is Tebow. P.S. Go Raiders!

Why would NYC area not be on the list? You want to attract spectators from the world, NYC is the best place to bring them. You have the new Giants (MetLife) Stadium and the Red Bulls (MLS) Stadium. I'm sure I could come up with several more suitable venues also.

So you think it would make sense to totally ignore the Northeast corridor? Sure, no need to put any games in the NY or Boston area. It's not as if those areas are not full of wealthy people who like Rugby. You want the Irish involved, then you have to use that area, the same goes for the rest of the British Isles. It's very short sighted to list both Tonga and Samoa as key teams, yet ignore England and France.

Any World Cup that comes to America will expect a large turnout by the IRB, and will be considered a failure if held in small soccer stadiums not even larger than the stadiums to be riskily used in Japan. As such, KC is out, Pat. Other cities will be out too for their inability to fit a rugby field in their stadium. In the last FIFA World Cup bid that America made, Chicago had to be left out because Soldier Field (thanks to its most recent renovation) couldn't fit a soccer field. As such, it damn sure won't be able to fit a rugby pitch. That being said, it's hard to predict what venues will be available that far out, because we don't know what will be built by then. I do know that worrying abut the NFL for stadia availability is silly, however, considering the league will have several years notice to construct the schedule around availability. If the San Antonio Spurs can make their 'Rodeo Road Trip' every year, the NFL can surely figure this out.
