I applaud USAR for putting on this competition. Despite teams declining to play, it is far more representative of the best teams than the USA 7's CRC tourney. However, agreeing with Pat, the timing is terrible. No only for the participants and their school schedules but for the location. Texas A&M's graduation is the same weekend! Also, why College Station? Nothing against the school, it's great, but a tournament consisting of 24 men's and 12 women's teams should be held in a place that's easier to get to. Airfare is expensive into College Station and so are the hotels due to the graduation. All that being said, I'm excited to go and watch some excellent 7's. This will be the true national championship. I can only hope they rethink the timing and location in future years to include other quality teams.

We have been very open about who they are: Penn State, Dartmouth, BYU, Delaware, UCLA, LSU and Utah. I have personally also said the USA Rugby championships are a good thing. The people who have put this competition together, the competitions committee, have been openly negative about the process, so acting like RUGBYMag is trying to run down the USA Rugby 7s championship on behalf of USA Sevens is baseless and ridiculous. The Championship is a great thing, but the timimg is horrendous, and it's diluted the quality of the competition.

"making the Bruins at least the seventh team to either turn down an invitation or tell USA Rugby before one was extended that it wouldn't be accepted." Name the seven, perhaps? I'm counting Cal, UCLA, & LSU so far. Any others the public should be aware of? Or are y'all just going to smear USAR for the sake of it?
