as a player for AIC just want to thank rugby northeast for the opportunity given to us to compete in this conference. but all good things must come to an end. we obviously learned our lesson. and maybe this happened for a reason, however just want to wish the best of luck to providence and bentley as they will be the only dominant team in that conference. God bless you all!

First of all, as a college coach, I had my players CIPP themselves. We weren't blessed with a cent of University support, but yet never, not once, had a non-CIPP player step on the pitch. A school with an absurdly large budget like AIC had should have been able to clearly avoid this. I have no idea what the motive was, and I do think some of these posts are sour grapes by people that got man-handled by AIC. Bottom line, they're a very good team, who should play College Premier as their institutional support rivals that of Ivy-League schools, and other top programs in the US. I have, as have many people, experienced their coaches wanton arrogance @ matches first-hand, but that is not a reason to vilify him without knowing all the facts. He screwed up, he's human; but if I were AIC administration, and was paying this guy $60-70k to dot the t's and cross the i's, I'd be pretty unhappy. That team was the DII national champion with a bullet had this not occurred. Imagine living with that!

I would suggest contacting the ECRC, it seems clear that this team is much better than the D2 competition. Also next year for an automatic bid conferences will need 8 teams and the ECRC has 7, they'll be looking to expand.

So much anger on these boards. Coach messes up royaly, fronts up and accepts blame and team gets tossed out of the competition. Unfortunate situation and lessons hard learned I'm sure. I hope this program recovers and continues to improve the quality of rugby in New England. Forget the begrudgers and knockers.

You have no idea what you are saying. Calling out these hard working college athletes, calling them clowns shows your total lack of understanding of the core values of this game. If they were in a spectator clearing brawl while playing on the road, why aren't you calling out their hosts? Because they didn't beat you by 50? - Rick Schmitz

Kicking this team out of the RNE conference is an over-reaction. What did they do that merited this sanction? They certainly put all the other teams in their place, but in the two games I witnessed (Varsity and JV), neither time did this team display an attitude other than that of a highly competitive and proud team. Hopefully they will move to a more competitive conference that challenges them with more than seeing how many points they can bash every other team by... For the record, I am not affiliated with the AIC rugby program, nor do I know any of their players- I am just an avid rugby fan that is beyond disappointed at the way this situation was handled. These athletes are talented and this conclusion was indeed a sad one.

Please then explain your choice to at least on occaision use Kapa O Pango, a Haka created specifically for the all blacks, including specific references to the team, the colors, and the silver fern. Non of which are images associated with AIC or your Samoan heritage.

Here's a question... If they aren't in Rugby Northeast, how are they able to compete from a legal/liability standpoint? Is USA Rugby taking responsibility for their actions? I heard they got in a bench clearing (and spectator clearing) brawl in the last game they played. Kudos to Rugby NE for moving on from these clowns and gl to the organizers of Empire State 7s!

If a team had to forfeit their season - should they be allowed to play for a 7's National Tournament Spot? Now I know they are different in many aspects. If something like this happened in an NCAA sport - they'd likely have to give up the ENTIRE season, including 7's. Now, I am not advocating for it - but its an interesting question. Would that punishment fit the crime? I could see the arguement either way. And is their any precedent for this from USA Rugby? Have it it...
