This has nothing to do with USA7s' This is all USA Rugby, this is a USA Rugby Committee that works for the USA Rugby board that was given a mandate to schedule something for this year with little to no time to prepare with USA Rugby doing nothing but worring about getting their staff down to NZ for a few weeks of vacation.

I know of several Western clubs that would love to play in a national championship, but, even if they win their qualification tournament, simply can't afford the $10-15K dollars to send a 18-20 people to Florida or Texas at $400 to $500 per ticket plus hotels and meals during the peak Florida tourist season. That much money would pay for much of the travel for a typical cpd 15s season. Also, a few schools have Fall Semester finals in mid December. They won't be coming either.

Well, "hypothetically", if the 7's Championships were to be held at Texas A&M,(as has been strongly rumored),that means flying into Houston from where I live........and by the way, the best price for that round-trip air ticket JUST went up by over $100, versus what it was being offered for the past several weeks! Imagine the increased travel costs each college team will have to endure by this foot dragging!!!

Thats nothing compared to the changes that are happening right now for 15's championships in Mens D2, and Women's D1 and D2. With over half the rugby playing colleges approaching the end of their competitive season, Mr. Bell is still deciding what leagues get what playoff spots. Isnt this the supposed imcompetence thaat paid administrators were supposed to eliminate?

I'll tell you who's fed up, USD, that's who! The clear-cut favorites to take the whole tourney in December would like to know what city it is in and when so they can start making arrangements now for the after party! Who want's to party? Party Torrero Style!

Sounds like Rugbymag (aka USA 7's) doesn't want to lose out on the main collegiate championship of 7's. They'd be a good fit with ESPN on biased reporting to further financial interest. This is a non-story, just trying to throw wrenches into USA rugby.

just like the ncaa is running scared that top colleges will (1) pull out of the bowl game system and goto a national championship system, and (2) that top colleges will create their own march madness tourney....so USArugby should be afraid that colleges (and maybe clubs and regions) will find a different, better path than the current system
