I just can't believe this. This kid is going to be protecting our counrty, and missed a semester of rugby to train on how to do so. The fact that we are unwilling to give him his semester back is ludacris... I hope this kid, or somebody, goes through with a lawsuit because he will have soooo many people on his side.

USAR doesn't truly pay attention to appeals in the fall because no one plays rugby in the fall. I mean, except for Northeast and Midwest. So why bother to see the thing through properly. One of these days Northeast and Midwest will figure out they, combined, pay over 50% of the USAR income per year. Maybe they'll band together for collective bargaining rights.

This is utterly ridiculous and offensive on the part of USA Rugby. USA Rugby may have a lawsuit on their hands before this is all said and done. Denying any enlisted member of the armed forces is against the law. Not to mention, slightly unconscionable.

Not surprising, much of USA Rugby's eligiblity rules are clear as mud, probably because they are drafted in isolation with no input from the rugby community (first you see them is when they are announced to be in effect). USA Rugby (and on down the ladder, TUs and LAUs) would do better if it posted proposed rules for a public comment period first, then it could revise the language to address these type of ambiguities that likely would be pointed out by the rugby community in comments.
