Good luck to all of the teams! Quite a few collegiate stand-out ruggers (CPD All Americans, Eagle 7's Players, and Jr. Eagles (USA U- 20's)are all in this event, playing for one team or another.... This event will certainly help to show all of the various participants(wh o never get to experience this high of a level of rugby) what it is all about ..."how high the bar is", so to speak...

@terreyd I don't disagree with you about those teams being deserving but we all know the CRC is about marketing, not about the brand of rugby on the field. As good as the Ark St, Life, Delaware, Kutztowns are in terms of play, they don't have the brand and following of the big BCS schools. But this new 7s Championship is merit based so the best will be invited.

Many college rugby fans and followers felt as though the June CRC (made for TV) Event was really lacking without the BYU's, Life's and ASU's of college rugby being "invited". In other words, three of the CPD's top five 15's Schools were not there.....hopefully this weekend's tournament in Tallahassee will make NBC(and whomever is purposefuly, or ignorantly, advising the Network on selecting CRC "Invite" Schools) to sit up and take notice.....

Because this isn't 15s. The 7s competition isn't delineated into CPD, DI, DII etc nor should it be. This is a great opportunity for lower division teams to upset higher division squads. I myself am coaching a DI squad that will go against a CPD team in our 7s qualifier. Wisconsin, Miami (OH) and NC State are all DI. Wisconsin knocked off CPD Penn State in order to claim their title. The best will advance, period.
