I think EOS has been watching Cal play back to back days and feels he also has the luxury or playing a b-team one day and then the a team the next...EOS the diff is CAl wins both of those matches...we don't win with the A team to rest them for a game...we need to try to win the first one...hold someone back for Russia because they and a sprained pinky now and they will end up injured in the Russia game and have to come off in the first half...Let the guys man up!

I posted the following for a previous article, but am copying n posting here too: In my mind it is winner-take-all time. Put out the best you have for all games and try to win all games. If someone gets hurt early on, then put in the seconds for the next game. If no-one hurt, all the better. I pray the game plan, after 4 years of developing is not to save all the best for Russia to simply "guarantee" the Eagles 1 win. The players have big hearts and am sure they don't want to be held back in any game, for tactical reasons. GO EAGLES, we are with you in spirit.

Spoke 2 a friend on the coaching staff yesterday. Make no doubt about it, they are out to win this game and will select for that outcome. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if guys who have been struggling with injuries(Malifa & Wyles come 2 mind) are rested against Ireland. There are 4 games 2 play & they may not want to lose a guy against Ireland that they need against Russia only 4 days later.

I mean, Really!!! why spend all that money to go to NZ for a month, just to try to beat Russia? USA Rugby should be ashamed of itself..WE ARE THE USA!!! We're supposed to have the, "I'll play anyone, anywhere" menatlity..... How about for the next world cup, instead of actually attending, let's make a list of 4 teams that we could probably beat and then challenge them to test...It'll be cheaper than travelling with 30 players and a another 20 for the entourage in NZ.

No way Siniulu should be in the 1st XV. He was abysmal during the Canada matches. Hfow many balls did he kick away; badly at that? Emerick is a stout defender and yes a hard, straight running IC is exactly what is needed. For all his lack of creativity Emerick made line breaks in every match. The same cannot be said of Siniulu; who I believe played his way out of the top side.

Play to win every game. Start the best (healthy) 15, with the next best (healthy) 7 on the bench. Really annoying to read that the USA may rest guys to try to win the Russia game. Playing on NBC on 9/11 with a 2nd-rate squad will do more harm than good for the game in the USA. We want exposure in the USA...we got it. Now, put out a quality product and go for the win EVERY GAME!

This is the FREAKING WORLD CUP!!! We should put out our best team imaginable on the pitch for every game...I don't give a damn about resting people..they have 3-4 days or more between games..plenty of time to recover!!!! If players get hurt, so what..it happens..You can't play scared!!! We should be trying to win every game regardless of our opponent... we're not a good-enough rugby playing nation to take liberties with resting players...This is BS...Try to beat Ireland, try to beat Russia and try to beat Italy and who ever else wants to play us...Play at full-strength for 110% the entire time we're in NZ. And if you're not confident in their ability to recover, then fire Dave Williams for not adequately preparing the players for the rigors of play and having physical confidence to compete everyday!!!

If Wyles is not 100% he should not play. IF he is 100% then he should. Doesn't seem all that complex to me. The only question is where. I like him at OC because Scully has shown to be capable at fullback. A backline as follows is pretty impressive if they are given the greenlight to run around and create space: 10 - Malifa 11 - Patterson 12 - Emerick 13 - Wyles 14 - Nqwenya 15 - Scully
