In my mind it is winner-take-all time. Put out the best you have for all games and try to win all games. If someone gets hurt early on, then put in the seconds for the next game. If not, all the better. I pray the game plan, after 4 years of developing is not to save all the best for Russia to simply "guarantee" the Eagles 1 win. The players have big hearts and am sure they don't want to be held back in any game, for tactical reasons. GO EAGLES, we are with you in spirit.

The US is not good enough to put out a seperate team to beat Russia, nothing is guaranteed...our guys have to play together, we are not NZ or another top teir country that can do that...we need to play together and gel not mess around with our roster...Ireland will do that to us, they will figure its the US easy win and play there reserves to give them sometime and still do fine in the other pool games.

If anyone really think that EOS is going to field a weakened team to help out his native country, then you are deluded. EOS has a very strained relationship with the IRFU and current Irish coach Declan Kidney & would love nothing more to put one over on Ireland. He had an excellent coaching record with Ireland & genuinely wants the Eagles to do well. Frankly his greatest sin in the eyes of some posters here is that he is not American born. Anyone who thinks that someone like Jack Clark could come in and make the Eagles world-beaters is living in fantasy land. Russia is the US's best shot of a win, & the US is at a disadvantage playing Ireland while Russia rests up. So do you play your best side twice with 4 days rest & risk two loses or target at least 1 win? Either way, not an easy decision. As for honoring 9/11 victims, surely any player who puts on the Eagles jersey on Sunday will give their all to do just that?

Two rugby players died heroically on September 11 ... Mark Bingham and Todd Glick were heros on United Flight 11. The only way to honor these two among the many victims is to put out the very best side and give an all out effort to beat Ireland. Anything less disrespects the memory of those that fell as well as their survivors. The US / Ireland game may mean little to the public at large but to the tight knit rugby community there is great significance. Go Eagles!

Look at the mess we have ourselves in with EOS as coach. Here is a guy that is thinking about putting out a weakened side for a match that is going to be on NBC on September 11, 2011, which is obviously a very important day for all citizens of the USA. Do you think an American coach would consider this tactic? The fact that EOS is Irish makes it all the more spurious.

You cannont hold back players for the Russia game to try to win, we constantly look out of sorts and out of place because we never put the same 15 on the field in back to back games to win, bet Russia has a core that they have been using...this is not a time to get bodies time against the Tier 1 nations and try to play the best against Russia for a WIN. Play the best in all games and don't keep messing around with our investment try to win them all no matter how unrealistic.
