The only way to get professional rugby in the USA is to show the people with money that it will make them a profit by them investing money in rugby in the USA. Seats filled at matches in our own country can help do that. Not one USA match I have attended had a full stadium in 40 years I have been involved. I have no doubt that people who post on this site love rugby. But complaining about it never gets it done. Yes youth rugby is where it starts in case you are wondering how I feel about it. I have coached college and high school both, managed the Atlantis side in Spain, and hope I get the chance to do it all again... out of my own pocket like most of the rugby men and women out there doing it now. The USA support staff loves rugby. I am sure they will not be not making much money if any, by giving their time, and energy to our sport and National teams.

1 - Yes we all have the right to question the national team tour part support staff, so feel free to use that right if you wish. 2 - The people who choose to question it should also list how, when, and what cost out of your pocket you have given to support our national teams. How many matches have you travel to and bought a ticket? List the times you paid out of your pocket as a manager, a supporter…

Is the reason for "More Criticism" for our 2011 RWC Team that we "Expect More/Expectations are Higher" this year? One usually finds teams with little to no expectations of improving which have very little "good" criticism leveled against them. So whether the Critics are right or wrong, I think that it is a positive and not a negative at all. What would we all give to have our USA National Team play at the level of the Top Rugby Countries in the World. You think all of those countries aren't beat up in the press and in blogs when they don't play up to standards? Support your country, of course, but having a healthy discussion of our weaknesses from players to team officials is okay in my book.

It is taken for granted that every USA rugby fan will be 100% and some more behind the players who have earned the honor and privilege to represent their country at the RWC. What is being questioned is the selection and make up of of the large consort of officials.......

you might have a nickel if we were not paying for the vacation plan for 14 officials. I would love to see rugby mag actually try and get an answer for this. I really would like to understand the need for two managers and a blogger. 33% of the cost of this trip is for these guys and I want to know how they are making American rugby better. So get use to people asking about it. We really saw how having such an entourage has helped in the warm ups. We would never have been able to lose all those games without them. Maybe they will be able to tell us that a 1-3 world cup is a great leap forward for American rugby. I will pay a nickel to learn more about the roles of the 14 officials since I have already paid $25 to send them on their all inclusive rugby vacation

Staff of 14 and not one scrum coach, which has been one of our consistently poor areas even against other tier 2 teams. Guess it makes sense to have 2 team managers and a media guy that runs a blog than a scrum coach.
