Can't decide whether O'Sullivan is a genius or an idiot. The arguments are: GENIUS-- the past year he has treated every match like a practice, and deliberately kept his best combinations separated to stymie any WC opponent's research. Consider their first opponent. IDIOT-- what we see is ACTUALLY as good as the Eagles get. But I DO know the best American goal kicker happens to play for Ireland, which sucks. I'd love to see Emerick at 12, Wyles at 13. I'd also love to see some support at the breakdowns. And I'd love to see a TWO WIN World Cup for the USA.

it just came to me... we have roster limits for non-residents...and many messy rulings on such things as eligibility, etc. so... lets put limitations on non residents in admin and coaching...period...

This goes to USA rugby as a whole too... more people are playing, younger and younger every year. That will only help. I think its a case of 'The older we get, the better we were' sort of things.. The USA 15's team has not been an international factor for a long time... But... I think some of the resources that are being deployed at the Senior level need to be deployed earlier, U17, U20 and Collegiate AA's men and women... we are in the product development stage trying to sell a product that is not finished developing...

Misplaced anger is worthless If anger doesnt motivate one to impact something positively, they create a bigger problem... it also amplifies ignorance...makes people think they know more than they do. The bottom line is, the USA team represents us, so there should be interest and emotional investment, but that has to exist when there is success AND failure, not just failure. And whether we like it or not, there have been a lot of successes, Some young talent in Mike Petri, Tai Enosa, Hayden Smith, Blaine Scully, Phil Theil, Lavalla, Inaki Bausari...

the problem with the anger though is when fans tear into the players for poor performance as if they were high priced pros not earning their huge salaries . these guys are mostly amateurs who put their lives on hold (they can't have a serious steady career-type job, and accomodate a national team rugby schedule)just to represent their country, playing a sport they love. Even the handful of pros on the US team are probably not making big $. If the poor performance can be placed on head coach, then by all means tear into him as he is earning the big bucks, but if it's player talent, then sadly we have to live with it, as we are fielding the best we have at the moment. these are our sons and son's teammates out there. cut them some slack.

I think you are confusing anger about results with anger about a union that displays massive hubris and incompetence. The Eagles are just going to be the targets because they are where all the focus and money is going instead of on development of HS and college rugby. The anger is about coaches making 250K yet the team isn't any better than it was 8 years ago. The anger is about watching the union waste dollars on sending 2 team managers to Japan and a media liaison that doesn't speak Japanese. The anger is about USA Rugby watching the CPD die on the vine. The anger is about seeing that all the good that is done in developing the game by volunteers be used as examples by union leadership as how they well they are doing to promote the game. The anger is not about Eagle results.
