The Malifa situatio seems to be similar for a couple posions ... SH - why on earth is Tim, lets stand at the base of the ruck and stare at the ball while the defese orgaises, Uszaz still gettig a look. Doesn't Robbie Shaw get a look? And Eric Fry keeps gettig tossed into the mix but Will Johnson doesnt get a look. Even with professional experience? Fry could be the future but he's not the present. Back to Malifa ... at this point he is Plan A. Ok. And if he gets injured plan B is ????? And he will have have had how much time to prove himself? So if Malifa goes down in the WC there is NO FH that will have run the backline. And as a final aside ... I am really sad to see that Chris Wyles appears to be out of the mix. And that is taking nothing away from Blaine Scully who has stepped up manfully.

Malifa ruined my trip to Charleston SC by missing 2-3 dead on PK a couple of years ago vs the touring French Club - and watched last week's match and nothing seems to have changed. Gotta be money when the few opportunities present themself at this level. Next!

I agree with the fact that flyhalf and goalkicker are 2 separate roles in a team and should be separated when judging a player. For goalkicking, Malifa has to be replaced. He's not consistent and just looking at the picture above, he's making the basic mistake of looking up instead of keeping eyes on the kicking target all the way... As for flyhalf, responsability in terms of performance has to be shared with the entire backline. When centers present themselves way too early as it happened during the Churchill games, you get unforced forward passes (which never happened later). When scrumhalf only sends slow balls because rucks lasts forever, it's hard for the flyhalf to make a difference and get enough momentum when the defense is all set... So to me, there's as much pressure on the scrumhalf and backline to deliver as there is on Malifa's shoulders... That said, Malifa needs to speed up his decision-making process to give the defense no time to adjust...

My biggest complaint about Malifa is his kicking to touch. There have to be several guys in the current selection that can do a better job of gaining ground on penalties, now that we are doing better with our lineouts. Nobody's forcing us to use Malifa for those punts to touch. Let's try someone else. Please!

Obviously you haven't either, wilkerson. It horrendous kicking is only matched by his poor decision making. Did you see the drop in the try zone? But that was a good play, right? Or how about a fly half that consistently throws 6 forward passes in two games and can't throw to his left very well. Are you still amazed, Anon? Or maybe you're just an apologist
