Im not going to say who is a good player and who is not; all rugby players work hard! I know, I played for one season back in highschool. It's a demanding and tough sport. Scott Jr. is probably an amazing player and sorry he didn't get seen over in his neck of the woods like the other colleges. Let me tell you something though. Dont matter what your doing and where your at, but when people compete for a certain position there is more than just one thing people look at; they look at a huge spectrum of options to choose who really is going to get picked. Scott Jr. may have scored more tries, but scoring isnt the only thing that people look at when choosing great players. Mauer is a well-rounded athlete. He makes scores, he's super fast, he's aggressive and in this sport thats what we need, and he is a great team player. We already know he is an exceptional winger and I wouldnt doubt he would be great in a scrum too. He is also strong.

I absolutely agree-played with him and he is better than some of these guys that were named-but it all goes back to where you play and who knows you beforehand. Scott (JR) is better than several of these guys and definitely stronger but you don't get as much exposure at a place like Lake Forest as you do at Arizona or Bowling Green

Tiberio has scored against England who I would say is above B-Grade. It is tough to win at Rugby when the rest of your team doesn't know what they're doing.

Thanks Cpl of Marines. Nice to hear some encouraging words on here. Best of luck to all the guys. I don't think negativity is going to help pull our team together. We should be supporting and encouraging our guys.

Look, coming from a person who knows exactly what intense physical training means, Rocco is a great athlete, he is fast, Im sure he trains all the time to get where he is, and other people think he is a great player also and if you cant be up on his level than I guess that means you need to get your off your butt and start training like he does. Only the best push themselves farther than anyone can imagine and Yes, I believe that Rocco will be apart of the rugby 7 one day? In a marines mindset nothing is impossible and he surely is doing a great job at accomplishing his goals and missions. Keep doing what your doing Rocco, Great athlete, Dont matter what anyone else thinks keep going beyond your max and Semper Fi!

I have seen Rocco Mauer play and I think he is awesome! Especially after having a significant shoulder injury! He is fast on his feet and people who are saying negative things about him sound a little jealous!

Oh and the guy from Temple is a joke- 15's and 7's. Just another example of throwing a couple useless names into a "prestigious" team just because they have ties overseas or their daddy donated 50k to USA rugby. What a joke. Where are the other UTAH kids? Tiberio couldn't do crap against teams that were B grade or higher at the CCI. He should have been dropped right there. Stop with this "Players have to fit a certain mold to play rugby," BS! Otherwise we can keep getting stomped out by Kenya 7's and Canada on our own soil. Meanwhile, the rest of the world's Shane Williams,Vincen t Clerc, and Cory Jane's are running rampant.

With continued training and coaching, I think Rocco will emerge as a star player. He came back from a pretty extensive shoulder injury and it does take time to reacclimate both physically & mentally to the game at that level. I wish the best for all these guys.
