An ugly but spirited game on both sides of the ball. But, let's be realistic here, the English played five uncapped players in this match. England has already had five test matches this year. England has three test matches against their only real competition, NZ in late November and early December. This tournament is not about putting their best players on the field-Gary Street has already said as much. The real test comes agains the true barometer-Canada. They are test poor, just like the US. Let's see a decisive victory and then we can start patting Pete on the back. Right now he's done what Kathy did, which is stay close with the English development side. Then again, he's doing it in year one, so hopefully we just get better from here.

Just to be clear, last years Nations Cup result had a similar scoreline for the US-England game. Pete's doing well so far, lets hope it holds up.

Also - the women played a great match, I'm wondering where those jersey's came from. They women are great, those jerseys though are UGLY! Are the men going to have to wear them in the world cup? Are they are replacement for those horrible flag jerseys? Did we suddently start having Barbie and/or Ken do our kit ordering? Now that we're playing the part, let's look the part and get something nice looking to play in.

The game was streamed by Rugby Canada, it was just streamed very poorly. I doubt the Candians would let Wendy stream on top of them, but it's sure worth a try!

@Hugh The game was streammed online by Rugby Canada, although the feed was choppy and the last 5 minutes of the game were cut entirely, leaving many fans cursing and speculating about the outcome. Rugby 7s is in the Olympics, not the 15s game. But I completely agree with you that the women do not get nearly enough funding or attention, given that they are by far in a much better position to win a 15s or 7s World Cup or an Olympic Gold Medal than the men.

Inspiring for viewers? Please highlight the viewing options? I assume that they were well publicized? Let's be real about this. Two days ago a large crowd of CanAm tournament fans cheered on the USA All Americans (or USA U23 with Collegiate association, or WACCA WACCA, or whatever label is distracting enough to be appropriate this week), play a damn good game against the Canadian equivalent. Wendy from Scrumhalf Connection has the ability to broadcast this at a low cost, yet there was no sign of her there. I see her "Tweets" for the nations cup, so is there a chance that she might get to broadcast? People are missing a chance here. Everyone got so excited about the Olympic decision, but why is this not following through? The Mens and Womens teams are in the Olympic boat together, perhaps it is time to leverage this?
