Peters and Craigwell are not Vick. Both are failures in context to the red carpet they have received. Craigwell is still trying but doubt he'll ever shine on the circuit and I'd bet Peters is done.

Pac Coast, I would not say that Peters nor Craigwell failed. They made immediate impactts. I would agree with you that others were crap. If Michael Vick approached you to say he wanted a shot would you say no? I agree with you that Emerick and Swiryn are studs we need more of those guys but we need them to be playing rugby earlier. I hope our guys get a chance to be together more if not fold up the team don't play on the circuit.

There are alos pleanty of us who have insurance and don't want dues increased to pay for insurance. Almost all college players are required to have insurance to attend school, these are the players who are the most cash strapped, why require them to pay for extra insurance.

I like how he is backing away from his definition of a crossover athlete. The truth is a number of crossover guys with little to no rugby experience were given preferential treatment and fast tracked onto the team. In my opinion none of these guys can be called "success stories". In fact they have been little more than impact subs and there athleticism has not made them anything special on the circuit. I think It is much more rational to look at players like Emerick and Swiryn who started rugby later in life but have worked through the ranks and have an obvious passion for the game....Crossover NFL "washouts" experiment should be over until a player can prove otherwise.

Transparent, speak for yourself, We need insurance to play. A lot of us can't afford to go to college, we love to play. We can't afford insurance. I know two players recently, 1 that tore his acl & the other fractured his ankle. Neither had insurance and the clubs forgot about them. This is great that USAR is now offering this only drawback it should have been done a couple of years ago.

Nigel Melville hinted at professionalizi ng the 7s team. And then a month or 2 later we get the wonderful announcement that USAR is going to charge us 10 dollars more for something we dont need that they arent giving us at-cost. Where is the profit from this dues hike going? Probably the 7s team. "On the backs of college and high school students and families we will go" - Quote on a poster in Nigel's office.
