James Georgiades (the other football player) looked way out of place playing 7's. However I was excited by what I saw, he is listed as 5'11" by OSU Football at 240lbs, he shouldn't be a sevens player, however he showed incredible speed for his size and being part of a program like OSU Football I'd imagine has some powerful legs. That kind of speed and power from a Front Row player would be exciting to see on the 15's National Team. Get him playing for a club with a good coach and get him to some of the new rugby academies that are forming, the kid has potential, I just don't think his future is in sevens.

He needs to take the summer and get with a local Men's club in Columbus and learn. The guy can hit, and he's scary looking as all hell, but intimidation only gets you so far when you don't know the rules and when you need to off-load the ball. Big mistake playing him in my opinion. But even if they didn't play that beast, OSU didn't seem like they had any other horses in the barn anyway. Its called recruiting guys... look into it.

From what I saw of Ohio State, they didn't live up to the hype this year. Maybe its the curse of getting on the cover of Rugby Magazine... But seriously Nate Ebner is only one guy. And one guy cannot win you games in Sevens. and when a team puts the world on your shoulders and expects you to carry them to a championship, you are bound to fail. This other football recruit that they were playing in the 2nd half of their games seemed to cost them the LSU game single handily and he did them no favors in the Penn State game either. I didn't see the Cal game but I'm guessing that Cal exposed him for what he is... A football player.

What were you watching. LSU scored two unconventional tries vs Ohio State? Penn State is lucky they are not 0-3. LSU outplayed them by far, talk about your unconventional tries...and then the Tigers miss a gimme conversion or the game is tied. Then Penn State scores a try on the last play of the game to beat Ohio State. Try writing the facts and a little less editorializing.

There were four players from New York City's Xavier High School on the pitch in the Cal-Penn State match: Seamus Kelly for Cal and Mike Erickson, Greg Voigt and Dom DeFalco for the Nittany Lions. Win or lose, a great day for the 16th Street Kids. Congratulations !

Having sat and watched all of OSU's games on the day, I must say I was rather disappointed. I didn't see a team relying on one player I just saw a team unfocused. You only lose in final seconds like that due to lack of focus. The last two games Ebner seemed to fade. Not saying a team should rely on an individual, but to be touted as such a premier player and voiced as such by the likes of Caravelli I'd expect more than one try on the day, especially with the fight his teammates gave (particularly the young fellow pictured above). Better luck next year Bucks...if there is one.
