The common sense thing to do would have been to let the Aspen7 play since their initial requests were approved and looked at the whole situation afterward. Obviously Alan Sharpley as head of the"ad hoc" committee has a conflict of interest. Obviously this CSC with a glorious history that dates back to February still has many questions that it needs to answer about its role since there are so many questions surronding it. Obviously the elite Aspen players had and still have no rationale reason why they can't play rugby per USA Rugby... Nigel Melville was a great and gritty player, but has proven he is spineless as an administrator as the head of this organization that WE allow to exist by paying our dues. His salary, and unfortunately now it appears Alan Sharpley's.

This is another example of adminstrators protecting their own turf instead of looking at what is good for rugby. The Aspen 7 may be able to play in the summer mountain league but they had no option in Aspen this spring. Would they have been cleared to play RSL for the Barbos?

This is the right decision. If Glendale is allowed to pack their team with players from a different club it would open a whole can of worms. Back in the 80's during the post season this used to happen all the time (players playing for teams advancing) and it was lame. Glendale doesn't do things right and this is what happens.

@rugbyfan1...mountain league games are summer games only...check out ERRFU website...breckenridge, vail, glenwood springs, steamboat springs and now aspen are play for not much more than bragging rights. if you are familiar with the rocky mountains this is about the only time that makes sense for these clubs to play. aspens ruggerfest has been going on for longer than i've been alive and i imagine it will continue so even if aspen is not in d1 or super league...it's the invitational tourny that kinda kicks off or ends the season depending on who you are or what you play. website or not, aspen no longer exists as a d1 club in d1 competition for d1 championship.
