Central Washington improved to 4-2 with a 55-29 defeat of UCLA Friday night in Los Angeles.

UCLA Head Coach Scott Stewart said his Bruins team was punished harshly by the Wildcats for turnovers.

"I wished we could have capitalized on the possession we had, but they played well and we gave up the ball to them too much," he said.

UCLA got strong games from David Martini, who has been outstanding at flanker, and Sam Sirell, who gave UCLA some good go-forward, breached the line several times, and was active in defense.

But Central Washington bounced back from their disappointing loss to St. Mary's to reclaim 3rd place, for now.
