Life Handles Texas A&M
Colleges - College DI-A

Life University beat Texas A&M Saturday 72-3. The Running Eagles led the Aggies 32-3 at halftime, and the result was never in doubt.

“Collectively, it was a solid, strong overall performance, pretty evenly contributed by everybody that put a jersey on today, which is what you love,” Life coach Dan Payne told RUGBYMag.

Despite putting up just three points in the match, A&M was able to string together some offense, something no one’s done on Life yet this season.

“Defensively it was a great effort. At certain points we played eight, nine, 10 phases of defense. Credit to Texas A&M for retaining possession and having the ability to be patient and continue to put us through the phases like that,” said Payne.

“There’s nothing better for your fitness than having to play multiple phases of defense over and over. Texas A&M made us do that a lot today.”

The win pushed Life to 2-0 in DI-A play and knocks A&M to 1-2. Life plays Notre Dame next week, and the Aggies get a Saturday off before facing the Fighting Irish on March 17.
