With their victory at the New York 7s, Old Blue has qualified for the Usa 7s Club Championship Series final tournament in Las Vegas in February. As runners up in New York, Hometown Heroes, made up of players from the Philadelphia and Baltimore areas also qualified (pending confirmation of their eligibility). That rounds out the list of qualifiers: Two more clubs will be added as wild cards in the next few days. The Club Championship Series is a national club 7s championship run by the company that also run the USA 7s IRB tournament. The teams will play as part of the Las Vegas Invitational February 10-11, with the final being played in Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday, February 12 during a break in the action of the international 7s tournament. Last year, Belmont Shore defeated Chicago Lions in a thriller. |
