Hawaii Runs Game Plan Academy For Kids And Coaches

Education-1st Hawaii in partnership with the U.S. Dept. of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, & National Guard Hawaii is unveiling the Game Plan Rugby Academy in December.

The Academy if for two separate but related audiences, young players and coaches.

All Youth, male/female ages 13-18 who desire to learn rugby, compete for an all expense paid 10 day summer International exchange to New Zealand, and get exposed to college rugby coaches for a possible Rugby scholarship are invited to the player section fo the Game Plan Academy.

All Rugby Coaches – College, youth, high school, and club coaches - who desire to become certified with NZRU RugbySmart program and identify college rugby recruits.

Young players can compete for an all-expense-paid, 10-day summer exchange to New Zealand to further learn the sport of rugby and experience the culture of that country.

Players and coaches learn from certified RugbySmart coaches from the USA and New Zealand, including USA Head Coach Eddie O’Sullivan, and New Zealand All Black Liam Messam.

Coaches gain certification from Rugbysmart program.

Players can also meet with college coaches and exploire the possibility of rugby scholarship opportunities.

The Game Plan Rugby Academy will be held December 9 to 11 at the BYU-Hawaii Campus in Laie, Oahu. Cost for youth is $25 and includes rugby instruction, college workshops, food, camp shirt and bag. Cost for coaches is $199 and includes Rugbysmart certification conference and materials, food, and activities.
