The Kansas City Jr. Blues beat Union County, 31-5, in the third quarterfinal match of the Boy's U19 National Championships. "We just came out and played well," Kansas City coach Brian O'Laughlan said. "We attacked well in the backs and the pack and our ball-handling was good." Kansas City dominated from the beginning, taking it to Union on offense and not giving them any room on defense. The Junior Blues forwards and backs each had a hand in scoring their 31 points. Union was not able to score until the last possession of the game, when they flicked the ball wide and had numbers on the Kansas City players, many of whom were subs who had come on for the starters. "We were on the offensive a lot and we weren't moving back a lot," O'Laughlan said. "We were fortunate to get some of our subs on." |
