Highland Runs Over West Shore United, 57-0
School Age - Boys

In the first quarter final of the Boy's U19 National Championships, Highland Rugby defeated West Shore United by a score of 57-0.

According to Highland coach Larry Gelwix, it was a very scrappy game throughout the first half. West Shore did well at the breakdown, poaching ball and disrupting Highland's attack and possession, yet the score was 19-0 in Highland's favor at halftime.

The game got away from West Shore in the second half. Gelwix said that the West Shore players had a tendency to bunch up on defense and overcommitted at the rucks. Highland made the adjustment and started spinning the ball wide. "We tried for fast ball and simply outnumbered them wide," Gelwix said. He credited his players for being able to make the adjustment on the field.

Highland will play Cathedral in the semifinals.
