Education 1st and Gameplan Rugby have selected six Hawaii Youth Rugby boys (and one coach) to go on an all-expenses-paid cultural exchange to New Zealand June 10-17. These U17 and U19 HYR players were selected from two camps in Hawaii where All Black coach trainer Daryl Suasua and USA MNT Head Coach Eddie O'Sullivan and USA player Leonard Peters shared techniques and experience and focused on the importance of a college education. The players selected are: Coach- Kevin Perry - Waimea Boars RFC. Gameplan gives USA coaches based in Hawaii the opportunity to experience the NZRFU’s RugbySmart program and to benefit from an extended version delivered over two days by NZRU’s three Regional Coach Development Managers. The program is reportedly in talks with USA Rugby to expand its reach.
