Bellarmine Wins Dallas Showdown
School Age - Boys

Bellarmine Prep won the Dallas Rugby Showdown this past weekend, beating the hosts Dallas Jesuit, and Shaw, the top team from New Orleans, to take the Golden Boot.

Flanker Kyle Stump, despite being smaller than most of the opposing scrumhalves, was relentless and fearless in contact and led the Bellarmine defensive effort. Despite being severely out-sized by Jesuit and Shaw, the entire Bellarmine forward pack more than held their own.

The backs were balanced in a team effort, with center Alex Rollins bashing through the midfield, and championship man-of-the-match, Darragh Ruane, spreading the ball around from flyhalf.  John Lencioni was dangerous out wide, but rookie wing Nick Russo had a breakout tournament.

Here are some photos from the weekend.
