Twenty-four high school teams have been invited to the 2012 National High School Championships Invitationals – eight each for Boys High School, Boys High School Club, and Girls High School Club.

The teams were selected from a pool of programs that had applied late in 2011. Over the course of more than a month members of the National High School Invitational panel examined all the applications, and came up with the top eight programs in each category to invite.
