Granite Bay Hopes to be Hard Stop for Jesuit
School Age - Boys

With a lot of teams comes a lot of games. That’s exactly what is going on in the Sacramento area for ruggers this weekend. And with a lot of games, comes league shuffling and potential upsets.

First place Granite Bay faces off against Jesuit in a matchup that could make things very interesting. Granite Bay is the power in league right now and would only make things that much more difficult for other teams with a win to stay undefeated.

Jesuit has gotten off to a rocky start this year, but has momentum with a win last weekend against Vacaville. With a win over Granite Bay, Jesuit would move to 2-1 on the year and stay apace with the Cougars, Islanders, Mother Lode and Sierra Foothills for running in the middle of the league pack.

In the second matchup, Islanders will be taking on Sierra Foothills. Currently the Islanders own the second place spot at 2-0 and would stay with Granite Bay with a win. Sierra Foothills is in the competitive fourth place mix with the Mother Lode and Jesuit. A win and loss from both teams would catapult Sierra Foothills over both clubs and put them back in the hunt.

Next up is the Cougars and Lancers. Pretty simple for the Cougars, if they win and the Islanders lose, second place belongs to them. If the Lancers (0-3) upset the Cougars, they could get jumped by three teams in league and drop down to sixth place and tough schedule ahead.

Last, but certainly not least is the matchup of Mother Lode and Vacaville. Despite their record (0-3), Vacaville has been competitive in all their games and certainly no roll over. Mother Lode can control their destiny with a win to go to 2-1, but will need help from Granite Bay and the Islanders to make noise in the standings.
