| Marin Looking Strong in NorCal HS |
| School Age - Boys |
|
In the league’s lone matchup, Santa Rosa will take on defending champion Elsie Allen. Both teams are coming off tough losses to power Marin and looking for blood. With a win Santa Rosa would keep their outright second place spot and stay apace with Marin. Elsie Allen isn’t where they would like to be, but it’s still early. With a win, the Lobos could make things a bit interesting with a one and one record by jumping Humboldt and staying with Montgomery for third place behind Santa Rosa The Marin Islanders continue to stay in juggernaut form. They’ve all ten of their competitions this year and seem the likely favorite to take league after taking out defending champions Elise Allen and LaMorinda. Marin went undefeated in the UCLA Dennis Storer Classic in January, winning four games with a cumulative point differential of 78-15, and capped by a 28-5 defeat of Belmont Shore. Feb 12-13 saw the Highlanders in San Diego for the Derrick Thomas Invitational, where the Highlanders beat hosts San Diego Mustangs as well as the L.A. Cougars for the second time in a month. On Sunday, the Highlanders finally met rivals Lamorinda, winning 27-10. Despite a bye week, Marin will be in first place regardless of the weekend outcomes and go into next week’s matchup against Montgomery fresh and ready for action.
