 It really should be a surprise that the bottom end of the U19 Top 25 is difficult to figure out. There are a lot of teams around the country that have good records, and perhaps one close loss or a tie that mars their perfection. We copy out, and after much head-scratching we put six teams in at #25.
The big movers elsewhere are Westerville, who looked very impressive on tour to NY, beating Xavier (albeit not a Xavier team that is as strong as it was in 2010). Cathedral, after dumping highly-regarded HS team Penn, also jumps up. United, which has lost to Highland twice and tied Red Mountain slips … perhaps too much. We will see. But since Tempe beat Red Mountain twice and United tied Red Mountain, the math says, United isn’t as good as Tempe.
Alliance won Texas and jumps in the Top 10, while also moving up is Kansas City, which beat East well recently, and East, now that we look at it, have been the only team in Colorado to really challenge Colorado Springs (East beat Springs early in the season, but that was before Springs’ wrestlers joined the club, so it would be a different scenario now, we believe; but still, East sticks around because of that).
Showing there’s a method to our madness, two teams that were tied at #25 last time, the KC Junior Blues and the North Penn Iron Lions both move up thanks to continued good results. West Shore United drops down because a lot of other teams have been moving up. We expect them to bounce up if they keep winning and someone falters.
