Eighteen-year-old prop Titi Lamositele, who is trying out with Aviva Premiership team Saracens, got on as a sub at tighthead prop for Saracens Storm in an A-league game against the Harlequins A-side.
The two teams tied 25-25, and Lamositele ran on with about 25 minutes to go. He told RUGBYMag.com that the game went well.
"It was good," Lamositele said. "I struggled in the scrums while playing tighthead, but the loose play was good."
This was the young prop's first run-out in English pro rugby as he tries to hook on with the full Saracens team.
Also overseas this weekend, Chris Wyles was at outside center as he helped Saracens stay unbeaten and in first place with a 22-12 defeat of Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership.
"It was a tough game in the first half, they really came at us," said Wyles. "But we showed a lot of character in the second half and a great place to come and get ourselves a win."
Samu Manoa came on as a sub in the second half and helped Northampton to a 33-14 win over Sale.
Leicester got their first road victory and Blaine Scully got his second start for the Tigers, lining up at wing. Scully's biggest plays were probably on defense, as Leicester won 21-9.
Saracens are 4-0 and in first place. Northampton is 2nd at 3-1, with Leicester third at 3-1.
News also from two Premiership teams lower down in the standings. Gloucester will apparently not be offering a contract to Luke Hume. And Andrew Suniula has officially joined Wasps, making it now four USA players under contract in the English Premiership.
Lower down in the English Championship, Eric Fry was on the bench at prop for London Scottish was they defeated Nottingham 27-6. Robbie Shaw was not on the field for Esher as they beat Old Albanians.
In France, Scott LaValla started at flanker at Stade Francais defeated Montpellier 18-11. Taku Ngwenya started at right wing for Biarritz as they lost to Bayonne 27-19. Stade is now in 1st place in the French Top 14, while Biarritz is in last and fading fast.
In Pro D2, Seta Tuilevuka started at outside center as Beziers beat Lyon 12-9.
In France's lower divisions, Roland Suniula helped CS Vienne beat Seynoise 20-16. Prop Mate Moeakiola started for USON as they beat Cognac 19-16.
In Japan, Todd Clever subbed on for NTT Shining Arcs as they toppled Toyota 21-15. Clever came on when his side led just 14-12, and helped them score a crucial try to seal the victory.The win helped NTT move up to 5th in Pool A of the Top League.
In Italy, Nick Civetta continues to train with Lazio,
Nick Civetta got his first league start during Lazio's first league start in Italy's Eccellenza (their top competition). Lazio lost their league opener 16-9 to Petrarca, but garnered their first points, a bonus point for a close loss. Civetta started at lock and played all but one minute.
