Overseas Update - Some Tries
International - Americans Overseas

It was a busy and fruitful weekend for USA players overseas.

Here’s a rundown:

European Cup
Chris Wyles scored a try and was Man of the Match in his 100th appearance for Saracens as they beat Racing Metro 30-13. Saracens are top of Pool 1 with a 2-0 record.

Taku Ngwenya also scored – getting the first try for Biarritz in their 38-17 defeat of Zebre. Biarritz improved to 1-1.

Samu Manoa started at lock for Northampton as they went down 21-16 to Castres. The Saints fall to 1-1.

In the Amlin Challenge Cup, Scott LaValla started at flanker for Stade Francais as they beat Grenoble 28-25 and improved to 2-0 to top Pool 5.

Wasps won as well, but Paul Emerick did not suit up.

In Japan, Todd Clever started at NO. 8 for NTT as they beat Fukuoka 30-23 in a thrilling game. NTT has moved up to 5th in the Japan Top League.

In France Pro D2, Beziers and Auch both won, but without Seta Tuilevuka and Roland Suniula, respectively. Tarbes started Inaki Basauri at flanker and lost 26-15 to Brive.

In lower divisions and in college:
Robbie Shaw and Richmond tied Coventry in SSE national 1 in England.

Shawn Pittman got some time on the first for Trinity against St. Mary’s in Leinster Cup action in Ireland.

Will Magie captained Leeds University to a 28-15 victory over Loughborough. Magie scored a try, lofting a huge up-and-under that his opposite couldn’t handle, and then hacking the ball on into in-goal where he touched down.
