Several USA players were in action this weekend for pro teams overseas.
Chris Wyles started at fullback for the first time in a while for Saracens, and helped them to a 28-23 win over London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership. Samu Manoa started again at lock for Northampton, but they lost their first game of the season, 39-17 to London Irish.
Paul Emerick did not play for Wasps as they won 10-6 over Worcester.
The Saints are still in 1st place, with 22 points, but Harlequins, Leicester, and Saracens are all right behind them at 20.
In France, Takuy Ngwenya couldn't help Biarritz avoid getting thumped by Toulon 36-9. Scott LaValla subbed on for Stade Francais in their 30-28 win over Mont de Marsan.
In the French Pro D2, Seta Tuilevuka was a sub for Beziers in their 19-16 loss to Pau. Roland Suniula was rested for Auch, and they missed him in losing 16-11 to Brive.
Lou Stanfill and Vicenza Rangers lost 30-17 in their Serie A opener in Italy.
And in Japan, Todd Clever helped lead NTT Communications over NTT DotCom in a sort of intra-corporate derby. 23-15 for Clever's team.
