Here’s a roundup of what Americans playing at a high level overseas have been up to:

French Top 14
Scott LaValla
started at flanker for Stade Francais as they lost 26-12 to Grenoble.

Taku Ngwenya started at right wing for Biarritz as they edged Toulouse 22-17 in a clash of the top two teams in the league.

Aviva Premiership, England
Saracens thumped London Irish 40-3 at Twickenham in this season’s opener. Chris Wyles started at left wing and set up a try.

Northampton defeated Gloucester 24-19 in their opener. Samu Manoa was outstanding at lock for Northampton.

Wasps lost a thriller 42-40 to Harlequins in their opener. As expected, new signee Paul Emerick did not play.

ITM Cup, New Zealand
Eric Fry
will start again for the Manawatu Turbos Sunday against Auckland in New Zealand’s provincial championship. Fry started for the Turbos when they lost their opener last week, but he was a standout at loosehead prop.

Fry got some compliments from coach Jason O’Halloran, who said he was “very busy, had a lot of rucks, held a lot of tackles.”

French Pro D2
Seta Tuilevuka started at outside center for Beziers as they lost 63-15 to Lyon.
