Pittman, Suniula in Thick of Playoffs
International - Americans Overseas

Shawn Pittman will start Saturday for London Welsh as they take on Bristol in the RFU Championship playoffs, the 2nd tier competition in England.

The game will begin with a moment of silence for the great Mervyn Davies, one of the all-time great No.8s and a former London Welsh player, who died Wednesday.

"I'm working hard, enjoying being in London and with the London Welsh," Pittman told RUGBYMag.com. "The London Welsh are doing great right now.  We won our first game in the playoffs against Nottingham, and we're looking forward to more exciting playoffs and hoping we do well."

Meanwhile the Cornish Pirates rebounded from a tie with Leeds Carnegie last week to beat Bedford Friday night.

USA center Andrew Suniula was declared fit to play after a series of injuries and started in the victory.

Leeds takes on Rotherham. Mike MacDonald is still injuries, while Robbie Shaw is on the bench after battling a series of frustrating injuries this season.
