O'Connor Rules Out of USA Test
International - Rugby World Cup

WELLINGTON - A hamstring strain suffered in Australia's 15-6 loss to Ireland has ruled wing James O'Connor out of contention for the Pool C Rugby World Cup 2011 match against USA at Wellington Regional Stadium on 23 September.

The Wallaby team will be announced on Wednesday (14:00) but a team spokesman said O'Connor, 21, would not be in it because of a slight strain that was picked up by scans on his leg.

"He's got a bit of a niggle, so we decided not to take any risks," the spokesman said.

O'Connor was the team's goal kicker in the match against Ireland although fly half Quade Cooper can also take the kicks.
